As a hiccup in the Hong Kong posting, figured I'd update on a current happening with that Lo. A few days into our Hong Kong trip, he came down with a rash sprinkled all over his body. It was concentrated around his toes, and also looked pretty bad on one ear. We guessed it was an allergic reaction to the laundry detergent we'd been using while in Hong Kong. So we switched to a baby detergent and by the time we had been home in Ohio for a few days, Lo's rash had mostly faded away. Case closed--we thought--until yesterday when the rash returned with a vengeance. By mid-afternoon it looked just as bad as it had been at its height in Hong Kong. Since we happened to be just a couple minutes down the road from Lo's pediatrician, we popped in for a visit. The doctor on duty was the same one who saw him for his neck rash all those months back. She pointed out our baby seems to have sensitive skin. Yep--I guess Jerry and I can both take credit for that characteristic.
Anyway, she ended up saying the rash could just be a mere allergic reaction, but since we'd been traveling overseas and some of the spots looked atypical, we are being referred to a dermatologist. Ack! Now I feel worried about what it could be. Sorry to the whole world whom we exposed yesterday at Jerry's work party, and all the people on the plane earlier this week, and all the people in the subways & busses in Hong Kong, etc. etc. etc. Hope this mystery rash is nothing big. It doesn't seem to itch, hurt, or bother Lo in any way. Strange. I'll update as we learn more.

hope it's nothing!!! our little guy got a rash just on his legs a month back and it looked awful but didn't bug him, then they just faded away.. it's a mystery!
Hoping that it is simply sensitive skin! Sorry to hear that the Ergo is not working out well. You may try a babywearing swap group to see if someone else would find more use out of it. We actually find the Mei Tai easier but we like the Ergo for the extended use. G is still so small though that we have to frog his legs in the Ergo. We actually used it more for Terrie's youngest then for G.
