Houseguests

Our household goods have arrived! And they brought some "houseguests" we weren't expecting.

Lately a couple of my friends had run-ins with centipedes, and I laughed at them (sympathetically, of course) but secretly felt supremely relieved my own home has been 100% bug free except for one fruit fly during the past month. When the movers dropped off our boxes late Wednesday night, Jerry and I noticed it all seemed grungy looking, but I didn't seriously consider the bug factor until the next morning. Within 5 minutes of waking, I had to cross paths with not one, but TWO centipedes just to get to the bathroom. Thankfully Jerry is a big boy who could handle those particular critters for me, but then he had to leave for work and I was left to face the bug mania all on my own.

I felt so grossed out, I sanitized everything I unpacked, resulting in 6 loads of laundry and about the same amount of dishwasher loads getting run ( I lost count). I put everything in the dishwasher, by the way--not just dishes. It sanitized bathroom items, baby toys, etc. Great invention, dishwashers.

Anyway I survived, with only a mosquito bite, and let's just all pray for the bugs to gradually disappear as we get rid of the boxes. (more than half done unpacking already--hooray!)

I'm so sorry about the bugs. I'm not a huge bug fun myself. That's awesome you should have your loans paid off before the baby comes, Congrats! Enjoy the amazon card.

WoW! We had serious centipedes on my mission in the Midwest. I can sympathize with you! They love bathrooms!

Come across any more friend -centipedes?

Nope, no more centipedes (though since there were two of them, I keep expecting the eggs they must have left behind to hatch any day now...).

I did have a scary spider run-in yesterday. And there have been other creepy crawlies reveal themselves the past few days, but it is manageable.

You deal with centipedes and I deal with cockroaches, which I had never seen one before until I moved here except once, remember when we slept down in grandpa's basement and I screamed bloody murder when I saw that one? Maybe you don't remember but I sure do, I was terrified to walk on the floor without my shoes. As for the name thing, Aunt Susie told me the day before I had the baby and I told her the name we had decided on that you also were thinking about that, I didn't mind at all if you don't... great minds think a like and sadly the truth is we probably won't see enough of each other for it to be a problem besides the fact that it's not like our family hasn't had it's history in double names so I think Liam Tam and Liam Stout will be great friends!
